Space Encounters is a mobile planetarium and science education service offering schools, colleges and science event organisers throughout the UK and Ireland - an invaluable science resource and attraction. We have been in continuous operation throughout the country since 2002 (we are now in our 8th year of operation).  Call now to enquire about ,or book ,a visit - we are now taking bookings for the academic year 2009./2010 . In addition to providing pupils of all ages with a fascinating insight into astronomy and science, Space Encounters also offers schools and colleges an unmisable attraction for fund raising events all year round (and not forgetting summer schemes).

We are now taking reservations for Irish National Science Week 2010, in November, and for the UK National Science Week in March 2010. These periods tend to book up rapidly and, as usual, we are happy to  accept bookings for each week either side of the main Science Week for  schools & colleges which we cannot accommodate during the official week itself . We are accepting bookings from schools around England, Scotland & Wales throughout 2009. and 2010  Having said that, don't loose out, if nothing else make a provisional booking well ahead of any proposed visit (up to 1 year ahead is not unknown) - if your chosen date is then requested by another school you will be given the option of first refusal on the date - however, at that time you will normally have about 48 hours to confirm your booking in writing.

We established the business in 2002 and have presented in hundreds of venues all across the UK and Ireland (and a few far flung places) to tens of thousands of individuals (presently in excess of 130,000) - of all ages and abilities. Primary, post-primary, college, university, science festivals, astronomy clubs, scouts, guides.. the list goes on.

Our approach is a combination of curriculum related material, and the latest scientific discoveries (presented at an appropriate level for the age and ability of the audience) all under a precise representation of the night sky with a total star count approaching 3000 star points - all wrapped up in an enthusing, motivational live presentation.. During breaks and lunch teaching staff may have free access to the presenter to discuss science in education, latest discoveries, or whatever is of interest. By prior arrangement (and logistics permitting) we also offer evening sessions on the back of a daytime school visit.
